You may run into this error when you try to send many emails at once or if you include too many recipients in a single email. It can cause the SMTP server to overload and run out of storage memory which, in return, throws this error.
To resolve the error, you can do either of the following.
1. Increase email limit
You can increase the email limit for your email domain. For example, Google Workspace allows users to send 2,000 emails daily; anything more would cause an error. Therefore, you can increase the daily limit by contacting the respective SMTP server host.
2. Use third-party email providers
You can integrate third-party notification providers such as Courier to send event-driven notifications. It offers a comprehensive 10,000 notifications per month free plan that can accommodate the needs of a startup. Therefore, this helps avoid the small daily limits set by SMTP providers.
3. Split recipients
You can split the recipients into several batches and send an email per batch. For example, Google SMTP allows users to attach 2,000 recipients per message, while 500 are external to Gmail. Hence, splitting recipients to avoid limits like this helps resolve the error.
