Error: SPF permanent error: too many dns lookups

What's Causing This Error

This error occurs when the SPF 10-DNS-lookup limit is exceeded. The framework RFC7208 defines the maximum number of mechanisms and modifiers that do DNS lookups must not exceed "10" for every SFP check. The general cause for this is the reckless use of the "include" or the "redirect" modifier in an SPF record.

Solution - Here's How To Resolve It

To resolve this issue, follow these steps:

  1. Remove all mechanisms that resolve to the same domain.
  2. Avoid using PTR mechanisms.
  3. Remove legacy patterns and vendor domains.
